Senior Safe & Social- Rainbow Services

Senior Safe and Social – Mondays and Fridays 10.30am-12.30pm in the Cafe/Bar area.

Working with Harlow Seniors to reduce Loneliness and Social Isolation.

Rainbow’s Community Builder programme enables older residents in Harlow to identify issues that are affecting their lives and, with support, bring their ideas to life, get more involved in their community and solve their own problems. In order to tackle the issue of increased loneliness and isolation, we support older residents to create and maintain weekly social and activity hubs, and we organise special outings and events. In addition, we open access to crucial health and well-being services and other community activities which would be of benefit through the co-ordination of 6 ‘Safe and Social’ information and entertainment events per annum.

Kelly, Jenny and Carol work with communities to set up weekly social clubs across the town.  Each club meets for 2 hours where we get to meet new people, make new friends, sit and chat, play games and enjoy refreshments.

Knitting Group

Every Thursday Harlow’s knitting group meet for hot drinks, a catch up and of course some knitting! Come along and join the group from 10.30am- Midday. Just bring along some knitting needles and wool! This takes place in Cafe/Bar area.

Bereavement Cafe- Rainbow Services

What is a Bereavement Cafe? ☕

The Bereavement Café offers a place to meet and connect with other local people who have had similar experiences to our own. It is a safe place to speak openly about our experiences, or simply just meet up for a coffee or a cup of tea.

Anyone who has experienced the loss of someone close to them, no matter how long ago, is welcome to attend a Bereavement Café. It is free to attend and you are welcome to drop in at anytime.

The atmosphere is very relaxed and informal, just like a real café, with hot drinks and refreshments.

Our Bereavement Café at Harlow Playhouse runs on the last Friday of every month from 10.30am – 12.30pm. Everyone is welcome to attend.
