Life Drawing Class

Join well established Essex based artist Gareth Barton for an inspiring evening of life drawing at Harlow Playhouse.

Suitable for beginners and experienced artists alike, this relaxed and welcoming class provides the opportunity to develop observational drawing skills while studying the human form through a variety of poses. Gareth will offer guidance and encouragement throughout the session, helping participants build confidence in composition, proportion, line work, and artistic expression.

All drawing materials are provided, so simply bring your curiosity and creativity.

Session times 

• Life Drawing: 2.00pm – 4.30pm (2.5 hours)
• Optional Group Discussion & Feedback: 4.30pm – 5pm

Following the class, participants are invited to stay for an informal feedback session where Gareth and fellow artists can share thoughts, techniques, and creative insights in a supportive group setting.

Whether you’re looking to learn a new skill, return to drawing, or simply enjoy a creative evening, this is a fantastic opportunity to explore life drawing in the unique surroundings of Harlow Playhouse.

These events will run on the Second Saturday of every month, so get them in the diary!

Suitable for ages 18+. Charcoal, paper and boards will be available, but you can bring along any easels and dry materials you’d like to use.
