Harlow Playhouse operates as a discretionary service of Harlow District Council, the registered Data Controller.

The personal data we will collect and process

Harlow Playhouse will process the personal information you provide to provide a service you have requested for example when you complete an electronic form, book or reserve tickets, request a concession or a companion ticket, agree to electronic or paper information in respect of our events and arts programmes, or enquire about any of our services. The Playhouse may record additional information on a case by case basis to support and further accessibility to services. (For example, provision of personal hearing loop equipment if required or alternative access requirements to visit the building).

Email marketing

Where you have opted to receive online newsletters or updates from the Harlow Playhouse via MailChimp, the information you provide will be stored by MailChimp in accordance with their privacy policy and terms You can opt out of our MailChimp mailing list any anytime by using the unsubscribe link included in every email you receive.

In order to assess our performance in regards to the services we provide to you, we may also use the information you provide to evaluate our performance. Where your information is used for this purpose, it will be anonymised and compiled into a high level statistical report.

We may retain anonymised information about the service we provided to help us improve our services in the future. We may use the anonymised data when applying for grant funding from specialist organisations, for example Arts Council England.

Who will we share your personal information with?

Your personal information is held for the sole use of Harlow Playhouse and will only be shared with:-

  • our appointed marketing companies where you have requested to hear from us in regards to our services and upcoming events; and
  • our appointed ticketing provider where you wish to purchase tickets to an event.

Without sharing your information with our appointed ticket provider, we will be unable to provide you with the ticket or the service you wish to receive. We will inform you about this sharing at the point that you sign up to receive this service.

Your personal information will also be shared where we have a legal obligation to do so, for example with official organisations such as, other Harlow Council services, law enforcement agencies and emergency services.

How long will we keep your personal information?

How long we keep your personal information will depend on the purpose for which we collected it, but this information can be found within Harlow Council’s Data Retention Policy, if you have requested to be kept informed of our services and upcoming events, we will keep your personal information until you inform us that you no longer wish to receive the information from us, although we may contact you from time to time to make sure that you are still happy to receive this information.

You can unsubscribe from email marketing at any time by clicking the link at the bottom of our marketing emails.

If you wish to unsubscribe from postal marketing or remove your data record, contact us by the correspondence address provided, email us at [email protected], or call the Box office on 01279 431945. Your personal information will be securely deleted from our records within six months of the date receiving your request.
